Larry Thiede passes away
MARENGO – Larry A. Thiede, 64, of Marengo, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at home.
He was born July 14, 1947, in Belvidere, to Robert and Eleanor (Nates) Thiede. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong resident of Marengo and spent many years farming in the area. He worked as a truck driver for Stade Grain Commodity Transit for many years.
He is survived by his father, Robert Thiede; his children, Kevin (Kim) Thiede, Shelly Thiede and Gary Thiede; his grandchildren, Nikkole, Jacob, Makkala and Devon James; his nephews, Tyson, Scott, Shawn, Jamey and Steve; his nieces, Casey and Sarah; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandson, Tyler; his sisters, Bonnie, Pam and Cindy; and his brother, Gerald.
The visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept 11, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept 12, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garden Prairie Cemetery.
